Customer Background
During a modernization of an existing sawmill line, the customer's imported drives used non-standard flange connections that no catalogue coupling could match. Sixteen drive shafts needed custom hubs.
The Challenge
Non-standard flange bolt circles and pilot diameters on the imported drives
Winter site temperatures down to −40 °C demand special lubrication
A remote site: everything had to be right the first time
Our Solution
Hubs machined to customer drawings and verified against a sample flange the customer supplied
Low-temperature grease specified for −40 °C service, filled before packing
Dimensional inspection reports issued for every shaft before shipment
Batch shipment with a two-year consumable and spare-cross plan
The Results
All sixteen shafts bolted straight onto the imported drives without any adaptation. The line ran through the Siberian winter without transmission issues, and the customer re-ordered the following year.
